Amanda made a good point, yes, the countertops are concrete counters...people automatically think sidewalks and roadways when they think of concrete, however, when done right, concrete can be very decorative and look awesome. Over time, the concrete will get different discolorations such as in places where we have water hit frequently and maybe if I roll dough in a certain place all the time-for me, this is a character building thing, for others, it would be really unwelcome. The benefit to concrete was both the asthetics and also the ability to make it do cool things (case and point, the drainboard).
I have been the worst blogger lately. I have good reason, but still, people will stop checking in if I am not better at blogging sooner rather than later.
Let me see here-In the month of July, Nick has been in Toledo Oreogn laying pipe and has not come home. He is working nights which makes it very difficult to even talk on the phone. I have been working out of town too. I went to Seattle, Chicago, I am in Newport and then Medford next week. I come back for a short time, then to El Paso for another job. I have been given a lot more responsibility at work, and while it sounds nice, I am working all the time and not really getting to enjoy life the way that I want to. Plus, more responsibility does not bring more perks-it is just plain old, more work. Yes, I know, gripe gripe gripe!
Anyway, I am in the middle of doing to financial statement so I should get back to it. Kitchen is close, nick needs to come home long enough to install the plumbing and the stove-and pipe gas to the stove.
Can you guys do me a favor, leave in the comments what you could see me doing if you could see me doing any job-base it on things I like to do, personality, etc... THANKS!

I feel like we're so similar with the whole work/life balancing act!! You have thought about the adventure of the Navy or a service career - but maybe all the traveling for this job has given you the feeling that you don't like spending nights away from home... Any of the big wig jobs, law, accounting etc. will have you working long hard hours... How much longer do you need to work for a big company before you can be an independent accountant? Don't forget your goal going into this wasn't to become a corporate monkey - it was to have the luxury of picking your hours and working for a small company. Find companies in the area you appreciate and think about starting to woo them now - you might be able to feel better about your situation if you keep setting you sites on a goal you can get excited about. :) Just some thoughts...
