This weekend, we took a trip to Tumalo State Park (just north of Bend) with the airstream. The purpose of the trip was twofold, first, we needed a break - and what better way to take one than taking off on the open road with the airstream. The second purpose for the trip was to see how well the airtream would do in cold temperatures at night. The answer? Wonderfully. We stayed warm using the furnace which runs off of propane.
Our campsite was wonderful. Located off the beaten track among ponderosa pines and juniper, sagebrush and dust. I love central oregon - the air is dry, the smell of ponderosa pines fill the air. My hair and skin like the dry better, that is an added plus.
We spent the weekend relaxing. We slept in (until 8am), took a walk along the river (the Tumalo river, I believe), went in to Tumalo and had a cup of coffee, shopped in downtown bend, ate pizza at 10 Barrel Brewing, Co., sat by the campfire and read and had an amazing dinner at Tumalo Feed Company. The weather was beautiful, nice cool mornings, tee shirt and capri weather in the afternoon. It was wonderful to spend time with Nick and Trooper. Nick has gone to work (nights) and so, his weekend has come to a close.
