About Barrett Right Now
He loves to cuddle and smiles really big. He enjoys running around and falls from time to time but gets right back up and keeps going. He doesn't cry much but things that will make him cry include being overly hungry, falling down too hard or when someone leaves (generally me) that he is really sad about.
He gets overwhelmed in situations where there are too many people or too much going on - not so much when someone in his "circle" is with him, but when he has been left at the gym daycare (which is the only place his is with "unfamiliar" people), he can get a little sad and overwhelmed.
He is very sweet and waves at everyone. He likes to be close to people and cuddles close when sleeping, reading, when he first wakes up and any other time he feels the need during the day.
He is quiet and very "mechanically minded" - he doesn't talk yet but he can do things like unscrew and screw on caps, stack blocks really high, hook small objects together, climb on anything. He is very good at playing alone or with someone else. He is very good at entertaining himself.
He loves to take baths but doesn't get upset when he is dirty. We generally give him a bath daily but if he has dirt on his hands, it doesn't seem to bother him. He likes to play in the sink water and loves to "wash his hands" with soap.
He will eat any type of food but seems to hate tomatoes (Nick does too). He still wakes up at night either because he is hungry, or because he wants to cuddle close or because (we think) he has had a nightmare.
He is really easy going and is great on car trips. He is very well behaved for the most part and is a really "easy" kid. He is definitely all boy and sometimes growls and whoops around the house which is absolutely hilarious. He is sweet natured and thoughtful but quiet and reserved. He has much more of a "small town personality" and lets others lead the way.

He is soooo mechanically minded! Its fun to see that side of him, and wonder what he'll become because of it. Its funny how boys can be so like their Dad's... Bear is all about pushing cars around and building things, and Austin could care less about that and all he wants to do is play with his basketball and throw it and make baskets. :-)
